ownCloud has some design constraints that limits the scalability of the product when is being used in huge deployments. CERNBox is based on ownCloud for providing sync and share to more than 14,000 users. Besides this use case, CERNBox expands the ownCloud platform to provide advance use cases to the scientific community at CERN.
